Our unique holistic approach

At NK Therapies & Healthcare we approach our role as a care and support provider differently than others, we use our unique holistic approach and we strongly believe in not only in caring for the physical well-being of our residents, but also proactively incorporate varied daily activities designed to promote and encourage  individual emotional and spiritual well-being

We provide domiciliary occupational therapy, care and support with a holistic approach which promotes your independence and peace of mind at your home, nursing and residential homes. Our unique domiciliary care is second to none. While preparing the care plan, in addition to our client’s medical records we also take into account their mental, physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being. From complex physical disabilities to neurological impairments, we endeavour to maximise our service user's independence in activities that are important to them.

To do this we provide a range activities which are designed to actively encourage and promote continued independence.

We value all our service users as individuals, our staff are trained to exhibit care and support with the utmost respect, empathy and dignity to all our lovely clients.

Our Support varies from each client, we provide care and support for people after Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Acquired Brain Injury, Supporting you or loved ones after being discharged from a hospital stay and those who are suffering from long term effects after COVID 19.

What is occupational Therapy?

​​

 Delivering therapy service  within people’s homes to help maximise their independence in activities that are important to them. We provide holistic person-centred support to people with physical disabilities and cognitive impairments, in order to help

 

  • Or clients include people having difficulty with doing everyday activities e.g. washing, dressing, cooking, domestic tasks; people having difficulties in their physical abilities eg mobility, positioning when in the chair or bed as a result of but not limited to:

  •  long term conditions: long COVID, Huntington's disease, dementia

  • recovering at home after hospital admissions: eg post surgery, stroke,

  •  Assessment of our client’s needs and skills; these include physical and cognitive areas

  • Working together with our client and their family to formulate a holistic person-centred goal oriented plans to improve function and independence in a wide range of everyday activities

  • Physical and cognitive rehabilitation

  • Advice on posture and positioning when sitting or in bed

  • Fatigue management plans to help our clients get the most out of their day

  • Advice and training to all staff members

  • Personal care depending on the service users comfort levels and independence

What will happen?

​

  • Our therapist will discuss with you about what you are finding difficult and what you want to achieve from therapy.

  • Our therapist will carry out initial assessment, this highlights the service that you might be offered this assessment The therapist will then go through what they can support you with or who else may be able to assist you.

  • They will work with you on the plan for therapy ensuring it is holistic and best reflects your needs. They will make sure that you are happy with the treatment plan and any onward referrals, before they start to work with you.

and many more, the best way for us to talk about our services is knowing what your needs are. 

  • The therapist with ensure that you are understanding their support and write up the programme. They may refer you on to different agency who can help you better
    They make sure to discuss your progress through your therapy programme.

What happens in an assessment?

​

Our Therapist will visit you at home to see how things are set up there. They want to know:

  • what you can do around the home

  • what you find difficult to do

  • what you need to do things safely

​

They will ask you questions about:

  • how things can be made easier

  • what equipment you’ve already tried

​
